Βαλκανική συνάντηση 2012

We proudly announce that Bureau of Speleological association of Slovenia confirmed on meeting 5.9.2011 that it will host 6th BALKAN CAVERS CAMP. Coordinator from Speleological association of Slovenia is Uros Hie, uros@syncomp.si

Provisional date of camp is set from June, 28 to July, 1st 2012 but it will be confirmed by end of 2011.

Location will be announced later.

6 th Balkan Cavers Camp – Slovenia
The 6-th Balkan Cavers Camp will be held from 27 June (afternoon) to 1 st July 2012 in the town Logatec, 35 km southwest from Ljubljana - capital of Slovenia.

Arriving by Car
For Slovenian highways vignette is mandatory. Information about vignette is found here. We recommend that you buy vignette and stick to window before entering Slovenia or latest on first petrol station after border.
If you are approaching Ljubljana from Northwest, Northeast or East direction, follow sign for Koper and ring around Ljubljana will take you to highway, which is going near Logatec. After 25 km, 3rd exit is for Logatec. Go strait, on first roundabout go strait, in second turn left and after that first right. After kilometer and something you will approach to camp location.

Arriving by Train or Bus
There is frequent train and bus connection between capital Ljubljana and Logatec. Those who will need pick-up at bus or train station will mark this in application form.

Arriving by Plane
Ljubljana Jože Pučnik airport is 26 km Nortwest from Ljubljana. Airport code is LJU. Transport by train or bus to Logatec would take a lot of time, so pickup will be available. Those who will need pick-up at airport will mark this in application form.

Arriving by Ship
Two big ports are in Koper and nearby Trieste (in Italy). From there you can continue by train or bus to Logatec.

Camping
There is big place for camping.
The camp will be located close to Logatec Town , see the displacement тук или тук

Registration
The registration fee for the 6-th Balkan Cavers Camp 2012 is 25 Eur. This includes place for camping, use of toilets and showers, touristic tax, T-shirt and dinner on Saturday. Guiding in caves will be for free
For younger than 21 years registration fee is 15 Eur.
For those, who will need pick-up from Airport and transportation to caves registration fee is 40 Euros.

Beds
Beds in 8-10 beds rooms will be available for 12 Euro/night per person. This is in same location as the camp.

Apartments
Apartments will be available for 22 Euro/night per person. This is in same location as the camp.

Food
Food will be organized upon request. Information will follow.

Certificates
For serious caving and visiting caves (using ropes) in Slovenia every caver entering the cave must be in the possession of a Certificate that he is be appropriated trained and that he has basic knowledge about cave and Karst protection and know the guidelines for Minimal Impact Caving (has completed Training for independent cave activity).
The Certificate of qualification for independent cave activity is issued on the written request, which must be submitted in Slovene language and handwritten.

But don't worry about Slovenian language; you just replace text in italic with your data and handwritte sign it.

With the request following items must be submitted:
Ø Certified (by the public notary) copy of the valid personal document (for instance the copy of the main page of the passport or identity card);

Ø Statement by the caving club that You are a member of the club and that You are suitable trained for caving, that You are proficient with single rope technique (SRT) and that You have basic knowledge about Caves and Karst protection (it can be one statement with list of all from one club);
Ø Statement by the caving club that a club is a member of an international federation of such societies or that the club is a member of the national federation, which is a member of an international federation of such societies (UIS for example).
Requested are originals of the documents with handwtite signature, so they must be sending by classic mail. I recommend that club collects applications of all members coming on camp and send to my address: Syncomp d.o.o., Uroš Ilič, Cesta Dolomitskega odreda 10, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The certificate is issued free of charge and is valid lifelong.
Documents needs to be at least 3 weeks before starting of the camp in Slovenia.

Dear Balkan Speleo Friends,

Our projected gathering in Slovenia – the 6th Balkan Cavers Camp – it is a very important event for the future and even for the existence of our BSU.

The previous BSU GAM decided to provide a new juridical registration of the Union, and the location was voted for Bulgaria; Alexey already transmitted to you (attached) a list of all necessary documents to be prepared by each member country, in order to be registered as a founding member for the new BSU. All existing BSU members are invited to apply for the statute of founding member for the new registration.

This is why I’m calling you to come to this festive gathering in a larger number, well prepared by heart, but also with documents, in order to give a new life to our union.

Waiting to see you for a great speleological celebration in Slovenia, the country who gave us the name of “karst”.
