Subject: Contact for caving in Kefalonia island, and collaboration
Dear all,
We are a team of french cavers (speleologists) and scientists, and we
would like to have contact with greek cavers, share information and
come to visit greek caves.
More precisely, now, we are preparing our next trip to Kefalonia
island. We will be there in November, from the 12th to the 18th of
November 2011. We will come to explore caves, to meet people, to study
groundwater (I am hydrogeologist at the University) and to enjoy
Greece of course.
We were in Kefalonia in April 2011 for vacation. We spent 1 week in
Kefalonia, and had a lot of pleasure to rest with our family, AND to
visit a few caves : the cenotes in the bay of Sami (Melissani lake for
tourist, and Angalaki cave for cavers). We also met the mayor of Sami
city, and discovered many others caves or cenotes.
We are still very interested to share experiences, to meet people
(cavers or not), and start a cooperation.
We are also still looking for some reports giving information about
the cave in Kefalonia island. Futhermore, if a student (or the
Hellenic Federation or a club or anybody!) is interested on
groundwater studies and saline intrusion in karst, we can also
initiate an scientific exchange (we currently study one of the main
submarine brackish spring in France : the Port Miou spring near
Marseille, and I studied the Almyros spring of Heraklio in Crete
during my PhD).
If anybody is interested, feel free to contact us.
Could you also forward this email to whom would be interested.

Best regards.
Bruno
PS : I was 2 years in Greece for my PhD (Didactoriko) from 1998 to
2000, and I met some of you at the "just born" SPOK in Heraklio, when
I was studying the Almyros spring. It will be a pleasure to have
another beer with you, and explore caves 12 years later."
